“I’ll bet you took pictures of the plants and stuff. What about the art?”
Parents. They know too much.
I was talking to my dad on the phone, and we were finding anything to talk about that wasn’t cancer related. He had asked about my weekend, and I regaled him with my 26-hour road trip to see an art show in northwest Arkansas with a friend. I like to sneak away for day trips, although this one included a one-night stay before hoofing it home for the work week.
I am finding it harder to get through a day without finding the absolute magic that this amazing Earth puts in front of me. This year’s blooms and blossoms have made me crazy happy. Even the storms have left beauty underfoot.
I do not have a green thumb and have trouble keeping cactus alive. My mother finds this amazing and has finally accepted my limitations in this arena. I stand in awe; I just have problems growing things. The friend I traveled with to Arkansas probably goes quietly out of his mind with my constant questions about flora and fauna. I am either deeply silent or questioning his knowledge. We roll through life together pretty well.
Stop and smell the flowers. Creep into the woods and listen. Walk that path and see where you end up. In my case, it ended at the museum, and I was just as mesmerized inside as out.
I love this and feel the same way. Not sure if it’s the hectic pace that leads to a craving of petals and trees and blades of grass to discover or I am just more aware of the healing and inspiring power of nature, but I’ll take it.
Nabeeha:
I doubt you miss much that it placed in your path!
Life can be crazy busy but nature places things in front of you to slow you down.
Kiss those babies for me and I look forward to seeing you soon. Thank you not only for reading our blogs but for taking time to send a note.

A lovely, inspiring post. Nature IS our world. You can always find the beauty and wonder in it despite the sometimes horrible occurrences. But it surrounds us and the day I saw a mama fox taking a break in my son’s urban back yard while I was babysitting my grandson, I knew we have to find a way to coexist. I later found out she has 10 babies! We either quit wiping out their habitat or learn to live with them in our urban surroundings. Nature is to be nurtured, as much as it nurtures us.
Vickie:
On everything you said, I agree. 100 million percent times a million. Mother Earth makes me happy in the spring time, and all times.
Thank you for reading what we write and for taking time to write back!

Sloane! Sister! I only just said to TC moments ago: “Spring makes me feel lots of good feelings.” That’s the only way I could describe it! : D
Monica:
Pretty much this season is a keeper!
Walking today was mesmerizing. And the red buds this year could not be putting on a prettier show.
Thanks for reading and taking time to write a note to me. You are the bestest.

actually it is good that your parents know enough about you and have paid attention to your observations.

P. Claire:
Nature is he highest form of art!

Love this. Steve and I feel that we are called to steward the piece of earth that God has given us as part of our home and joy in this world. We moved back in October and, as of now, have planted 13 trees in our yard and we’re just getting started! These photos are wonderful! Thank you!
Ruth-Ann
So thrilled to hear about all your trees! Keep up the good work!
